Modernization and Remodel
The Southern
California Automobile Club, a subsidiary of the American Automobile
Association, maintains its headquarters in the Los Angeles business
district on South Figueroa Street. As a result of the need to keep
pace with advancing technology, it became necessary to modernize the
campus. In total, the modernization affected approximately 122,294
square feet of structure. Leaving the electrical infrastructure intact,
N.A. Cohen Group's design included demolition and removal of existing
branch wiring and light fixtures. The design further called for installation
of energy efficient fluorescent light fixtures and variable speed
air supply fans. Finally, the modernization included the installation
of a sophisticated energy management system which would provide the
Automobile Club with a high degree of flexibility and control.

Project Management prepared a lump sum bid for all CSI Division
16 components of the Automobile Club Building 4. Performing to the
high standards of DACM Project
Management estimating department, a thorough review of the
bid documents was conducted. It entailed identifying all specifics
of the scope of work, securing quotations from numerous wholesale
material suppliers, and preparing all the material quantity take-offs
necessary for accurate costing of the project. Additionally, our services
included providing data for and securing quotations from various low-voltage
systems subcontractors who would provide the installation of fire
/ life safety and communications systems.
